Education rooted in place

Kettlesong will be a place that celebrates all things local. That’s why York Preparatory Academy chose Kettlesong for their new K-8 public charter school. The environment and local ecosystems will be among the subjects of discovery and exploration for kids and their families. With plans for woodland learning spaces, forest classrooms, a campus green, and three different educational gardens, nature is the teacher and the playground.

What is place-based education?

Every place is a story waiting to be written. Birds in the tree canopy, frogs in the creek, people in their towns and villages trying to understand what the future will bring as they carve new paths forward. Places have a lot to teach us if we know how to read the landscape, and appreciate local heritage and culture.

A proud partner of  York Preparatory Academy

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome York Preparatory Academy into Kettlesong. They definitely belong on the York county honor roll. In its relatively short history, YPA has distinguished itself for outstanding academic accomplishment and community leadership. Their new Kettlesong campus will enroll students in grades K-5 in fall of 2022, with grades 6-8 coming in later years.
